Code of Maryland. The Revisor of Statutes shall be the Director of
the Commission and serve in this capacity without any additional
compensation.
(b) The personnel, records, files, furniture and fixtures and other
properties, and all appropriations, credits, assets, liabilities, and obli-
gations of the Commission to Revise the Annotated Code are trans-
ferred to and become personnel, properties, and obligations of the
Division of Statutory Revision within the Department of Legislative
Reference.
(c) All regular employees of the Commission to Revise the Anno-
tated Code in the categories of secretary, stenographer, clerk, mes-
senger, or other non-professional employment, at the time they be-
come regular employees of the Division of Statutory Revision, are
members of the classified service of the State and subject generally
to the rights, duties, and procedures applicable under Article 64A
of the Code, title "Merit System," as amended or revised from time
to time.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That employees of the Com-
mission to Revise the Annotated Code in the several categories herein
made members of the classified service and who have held such
employment for a period of not less than six months on the effective
date of this Act (when they become regular employees of the Division
of Statutory Revision) shall become members of the classified service
on that date in their respective positions and with no further qualify-
ing or other requirements or tests. From that date they shall have the
rights, privileges, and responsibilities of other employees in the
classified service and as such be generally under the provisions of Ar-
ticle 64A of the Annotated Code, title "Merit System," as amended or
revised from time to time.
Sec, 3. And be it further resolved ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1972.

(Senate Bill 5)
AN ACT to add new Sections 529(p) and (q) to Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title
"Health," subtitle "Cosmetologists," to follow immediately after
Section 529(o) thereof; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 529 (a) and 532 (a), (b) and (c), and Sections 549 (a), (b),
(c), (d), (e), (f) and (g); to repeal Section 532(d) and to enact
new Section 532 (d) in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the
Section repealed, and to add new Section 532(e) to follow imme-
diately after Section 532(d) thereof, all of the same article, title
and subtitle, to define cosmetologist-aide and student cosmetologist,
to deal with the licensing and examination of cosmetologists, to
deal generally with cosmetology, and to clarify the language
therein.
