(s) In St. Mary's County, the State's Attorney's salary is fifteen
thousand dollars ($15,000.00). The State's Attorney may appoint
an assistant State's attorney. The assistant State's attorney's salary
[is seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500.00).] shall be
determined and set by the County Commissioners of St. Mary's
County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 178
(Senate Bill 957)
AN ACT to add new Sections 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148,
149, 150, 151, 152, 152A, 152B, 152C, 152D, 152E, 152F, 152G,
152H, 152-1, AND 152J and 152K to Article 41 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—
Executive and Administrative Departments," subtitle "Department
of Legislative Reference," to follow immediately after Section 140
thereof, and to be under the new subtitle "Maryland Sports Com-
plex Authority"; to create a State agency to be known as the
"Maryland Sports Complex Authority"; to provide for the Author-
ity's membership, structure, officers and employees; to set forth
the purposes of the Authority which shall be to provide for a
sports complex and related facilities in the Greater Baltimore
Region for professional sports teams, athletic contests and other
activities, as well as to provide for other revenue producing facili-
ties in the environs of the sports complex; to set forth the powers,
functions, and duties of the Authority; to set forth certain limita-
tions and conditions upon the powers and functions of the Author-
ity, including the provision that there shall be no State general
fund appropriations to the Authority; to authorize the Authority
to issue notes, bonds and other obligations; to set forth provisions,
requirements, powers and duties in connection with the issuance
of bonds and other obligations by the Authority; to exempt the
CERTAIN property of the Authority and bonds and other obliga-
tions issued by the Authority from taxation, including the income
from such bonds and other obligations; to exempt the Authority
from certain requirements relating to giving security in suits or
actions; to provide that certain types of liens shall not attach to
property of the Authority; to provide for reports to be submitted
by the Authority; to provide for the termination of the existence
of the Authority; to set forth standards for the construction of the
provisions of the subtitle; to repeal inconsistent laws; TO PRE-
VENT THE USE OF CERTAIN SUMS APPROPRIATED FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO MEMORIAL STADIUM IN BALTIMORE
CITY FOR PURPOSES OF THIS ACT; and relating generally
to the creation, purposes, powers, duties and functions of the
Maryland Sports Complex Authority.
