(6) To include in any transfer, sale, rental or lease of housing any
restrictive covenant [s] that discriminates; or for any person to
honor or exercise, or attempt to honor or exercise any discriminatory
covenant pertaining to housing.

11C.

It is unlawful for any person, business, corporation, partnership,
copartnership or association or any other individual, agent, employee,
group or firm which is licensed or regulated by the Department of
Licensing and Regulation [s] as set out under Article 41, Subtitle
15[A], "The Department of Licensing and Regulation [s]," to refuse,
withhold from, deny or discriminate against any person the accom-
modations, advantages, facilities, privileges, sales or services because
of the race, sex, creed, color or national origin of any person. Nothing
in this section shall be construed or interpreted to prohibit any person,
business, corporation, partnership, copartnership, association or any
other individual, agent, employee, group or firm which is licensed or
regulated by the Department of Licensing and Regulation from the
right to refuse, withhold from or deny any person for failure to con-
form to the usual and regular requirements, standards and regulations
of any such person, business, corporation, partnership, copartnership,
association contemplated by this section so long as the denial is not
based upon discrimination on the grounds of race, sex, color, creed,
or national origin.

If any provision of this subtitle or the application thereof to any
person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of this subtitle
and the application of the provision to other persons not similarly
situated or to other circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 127
(House Bill 293)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 19 of
Article 42 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supplement),
title "Habeas Corpus," subtitle "Jurisdiction and Procedure," cor-
recting certain errors in the laws relating to the writ of habeas
corpus.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 19 of Article 42 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Supplement), title "Habeas Corpus," subtitle "Jurisdiction
and Procedure," be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
