AN ACT to amend Chapter 79, title "Building Code," of the Mont-
gomery County Code 1965, as amended, by adding a new Section
79-82A, titled "Section 927.43—Screening Required," to provide
that air conditioning units, heating units, elevator shafts, water
tanks, and all mechanical equipment of any kind located on the
roof of any building shall be screened by walls of non-combustible
material.

Be It Enacted by the County Council for Montgomery County,
Maryland, that—

Sec. 1. Chapter 79, title "Building Code," of the Montgomery
County Code 1965, as amended, is hereby amended by adding a new
section 79-82A, title "Section 927.43—Screening Required," to read
as follows:

79-82A. Section 927.43—Screening Required.

Air conditioning units, heating units, elevator shafts, water
tanks, and all mechanical equipment of any kind located on the roof of
any building shall be effectively screened on all sides to the height of
such equipment by walls of non-combustible material substantially
similar to that of the building walls or such other material as approved
by the Building Inspector. Such walls may be either solid or ventilated
as may be appropriate for the equipment enclosed.

Sec. 2. The County Council declares an emergency exists as to
the need of the enactment of this legislation, and the above shall
become effective immediately upon adoption.

AN ACT to amend Chapter 20 (Bill No. 21-69) of the Laws of
Montgomery County 1969 which authorized the issuance of bonds
for parking lots for the Bethesda Parking Lot District by re-
pealing and reenacting, with amendments, Sec. 1 thereof and
by repealing in their entirety Sec. 2, Sec. 3, Sec. 4, Sec. 5, Sec.
6, Sec. 7, Sec. 8, Sec. 9 and Sec. 10 thereof and enacting in lieu
thereof new Sections 2, 3 and 4 to provide that the authority
granted by said Chapter 20 be in accordance with and be im-
plemented in accordance with the provisions of Sections 2-111
through 2-119, inclusive, of the Montgomery County Code 1965,
as amended by Chapter 23 (Bill No. 46-70) of the Laws of
