AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to repeal and re-enact, with
amendments, Section 12-802 of the Anne Arundel County Code
(1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 12, "Licenses, Permits and
Franchises", Subtitle 8, "Electrical", Article I, "In General", to
adopt the 1971 edition of the National Electrical Code.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, That Section 12-802 of the Anne Arundel County-
Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 12, "Licenses, Permits
and Franchises", Subtitle 8, "Electrical", Article I, "In General", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

Section 12-802

The National Electrical Code, [1968] 1971 edition, is hereby
adopted as the electrical code for the county and all electrical installa-
tions and equipment shall be equal or superior to the standards and
requirements therein.

Section 2. And be it further enacted, That the Director of
Inspections and Permits be, and he is hereby directed to file with the
Secretary of the County Council a copy of the 1971 edition of the
National Electrical Code, certified to be a true copy of the edition
and electrical code referred to in this Ordinance. Said certified copy
shall be kept permanently on file by the Secretary of the County
Council.

Section 3. And be it further enacted, That this Ordinance is
hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, welfare,
and property, and being passed by the affirmative vote of five (5)
members of the County Council, the same shall take effect on Janu-
ary 1, 1972.

AN ORDINANCE to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
17-703 (f) of the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements), Title 17, "Taxation", Subtitle 7, "Miscellaneous
Taxes", to authorize additional special police officers for the Bay
Ridge Special Community Benefit District.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, That Section 17-703 (f) of the Anne Arundel
County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 17, "Taxation",
Subtitle 7, "Miscellaneous Taxes", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
