period covered by this franchise. The Company shall also carry
insurance to protect it from all claims under the Workmen's Com-
pensation Law in effect that may be applicable to it.
Section 2. And be it further enacted, That this Ordinance shall
take effect forty-five (45) days from the date it becomes law.

AN ORDINANCE to repeal Sections 12-807 and 12-824 of the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 12,
"Licenses, Permits and Franchises", Subtitle 8, "Electrical,"
Article II, "Board of Electrical Examiners" and Article III, "Li-
censes", respectively; to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Sections 12-808 (a) and (c), 12-812 (a), (b) and (c), 12-814
through 12-818, inclusive, 12-819 (a) and (c) and 12-820 of said
Code, Title, Subtitle and Articles; to repeal Section 12-811 of said
Code, Title, Subtitle, Article III, "Licenses"; to enact new Section
12-811 in lieu thereof, to stand in the place of the Section repealed;
and to add new Sections 12-810A and 12-812(c-1) to said Code,
Title and Subtitle, Article III, "Licenses" to follow immediately
after Sections 12-810 and 12-812 (c), respectively; to eliminate
certain provisions of the Code which are no longer applicable; to
make certain technical corrections, to change the types of licenses
and requirements therefor; and to generally revise the electrical
code, respectively.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County, Maryland, That Sections 12-807 and 12-824 of the Anne
Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and Supplements), Title 12,
"Licenses, Permits and Franchises", Subtitle 8, "Electrical", Article
II, "Board of Electrical Examiners" and Article III, "Licenses",
respectively, be, and they are hereby repealed.
Section 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 12-808 (a)
and (c), 12-812 (a), (b) and (c), 12-814 through 12-818, inclusive,
12-819 (a) and (c) and 12-820 of said Code, Title, Subtitle and
Articles be, and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
Section 12-808.
(a) The [board of electrical examiners] Board shall advise
the Director on the issuance of [master electrician and restricted]
electrician's licenses, and [in connection with this function,] shall
ascertain by appropriate written examination the qualifications and
capabilities of all persons who are or desire to be engaged in the
electrical trade [of master electrician or restricted electrician].
(c) The Board shall hear all complaints with reference to
violations of this Subtitle, [and especially all complaints with
