2436                            County Local Laws

Section 13-320.9. Trash and Garbage.

Trash and garbage containers as approved by the Anne Arundel
County Health Department shall be placed throughout the site; no
such containers nor any trash and garbage collection area shall be
permitted to overflow, cause objectionable odors, or facilitate the
breeding of vermin or insects.

Section 13-320.10. Water Safety Facilities.

(a)    Boarding ladders shall be located along the sides of each
pier (and along each bulkhead where water depth at the bulkhead
exceeds four feet (4') in depth). Such ladders shall be staggered on
opposite sides of the pier, and shall be placed at intervals not exceed-
ing fifty feet (50') apart as to the same side; and not exceeding one-
half (˝) the distance between lines drawn perpendicular from said
ladders to the opposite side of the pier.

(b)    One (1) life preserver with throw line shall be located not
more than every fifty feet (50') along each pier or bulkhead.

Section 13-320.11. Off-Street Roadways and Parking Areas.

All roadways and parking areas within a marina shall be
graded and covered with a minimum surfacing of oil treated crusher
run stone or pea gravel so as to be permanently dustproof, or paved
with triple surface treatment of bituminous material, macadam or
concrete, and drained in accordance with the standards of the Anne
Arundel County Department of Public Works.

MA—Maritime Group A Districts
Section 13-321. In General.

Maritime Group A Districts shall consist of the following:

(1)    MAI—Community Marina Districts.

(2)    MA2—Commercial Marina Districts.

(3)    MA3—Yacht Club Districts.

Section 13-321.1. Uses Permitted—MA1—Community Marina
Districts.

The following uses shall be permitted in MA1—Community
Marina Districts:

(1)    Launching ramps, small hoists (to accommodate primarily
the launching of sailing craft not exceeding one thousand eight
hundred (1,800) pounds), and trailer storage (which shall be screened
from adjacent and surrounding residential property and major acti-
vity areas on the site).

(2)    Minor maintenance necessary to keep the craft in operable
condition.

(3)    Piers, wharves and other facilities for the berthing and
securing of watercraft.
