CITY OF SALISBURY
MARYLAND

I, Fara L. Tawes, Clerk of the City of Salisbury, do hereby certify that
the attached is a true and correct copy of the original Resolution as passed
by the City Council at its meeting on August 24, 1970.

Resolution No. 135

A Resolution of the Council of The City of Salisbury proposing
the annexation of the City of Salisbury of a certain area of land situ-
ated contiguous to and binding upon the Southeasterly corporate
limits of the City of Salisbury, popularly known as the "College Ave-
nue Area" and bounded on the South by the Southerly boundary of
the existing property of Wicomico County, Maryland and bounded
on the Southeast by Robins Avenue, Snow Hill Road and Johnson
Road, and bounded on the East by the Easterly line of the R. H.
Hodgson property and bounded on the North by the Northerly line
of the C. Ray Hare property, and in part by College Avenue, and in
part by Hemlock Street and bounded on the Northwest by the exist-
ing corporate limits of the City of Salisbury and providing for condi-
tions and circumstances applicable to the proposed changes in boun-
dary of the City of Salisbury.

WHEREAS, The City of Salisbury has received consents to annexa-
tion, signed by at least 25% of the persons who reside in the area to be
annexed and who are registered voters and by the owners of at least 25%
of the assessed valuation of the real property located in the area sought
to be annexed, being contiguous to and binding upon the Southeasterly
corporate limits of The City of Salisbury and called "College Avenue Area,"
for identification; and

WHEREAS, The City of Salisbury has caused to be made a certifi-
cation of the signatures on said consent to annexation and has verified
that the persons signing the petition represent at least 25% of the persons
who reside in the area to be annexed and who are registered to vote in
the county elections for Wicomico County, in which said area is located
and that the persons signing the consent to annexation are the owners
of at least 25% of the assessed valuation of the real property located in
the area sought to be annexed, all as of July 3, 1970, as will more par-
ticularly appear by the certification of Philip W. Cooper, Director of Public
Works for The City of Salisbury, attached hereto; and

WHEREAS, it appears that the consents meet all the requirements
of law.

Section 1. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, That it is hereby proposed
and recommended, that the boundaries of The City of Salisbury be changed
so as to annex to and include within said city all that certain area of land,
together with the persons residing therein and their property, contiguous
to and binding upon the Southeasterly corporate limits of The City of
Salisbury and being more particularly described in Exhibit "A," attached
hereto and made a part hereof.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF
SALISBURY, That the annexation of the said area be made subject to the
terms and conditions in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
