39. Judges of election.

[The Commissioners of said town shall appoint three persons] THE
REGISTRARS APPOINTED UNDER SECTION 38 SHALL SERVE as
judges of the election to be held on the second Tuesday in April [1929]
1973, and [likewise appoint three persons for the elections to be held]
SAID REGISTRARS SHALL SERVE AS SAID JUDGES EVERY
TWO YEARS THEREAFTER. [The judges] THE REGISTRARS so
appointed shall appoint a clerk. The polls shall be opened at seven o'clock
a.m., and remain open until [four] EIGHT o'clock p.m., at such place as
may be designated by the Commissioners, and the [judges] REGIS-
TRARS shall file with the Commissioners a report, and certificates of
election shall be signed by the [judges] REGISTRARS to the Commis-
sioners so elected. THE REGISTRARS [The judges of election] shall,
before proceeding to act, take oath before some [justice of the peace]
NOTARY PUBLIC of Wicomico County to permit all qualified voters to
vote, and that they will have said election conducted fairly and that no
one will be allowed to vote unless duly qualified and registered.

Section 2. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDAINED
by the Commissioners of Delmar that this Charter Amendment shall take
effect fifty (50) days from the date of the passage thereof.

Resolution No. 6 of the Mayor and Commissioners

of the City of District Heights, Maryland,

amending Section 22-50 of the City Charter

TITLE: An amendment of the City Charter to provide that the
taxes provided for in Section 22-48 of the City Charter, after they
become overdue and in arrears, shall bear interest at the rate of one
percentum (1%) per month or fraction thereof until paid.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMIS-
SION OF THE CITY OF DISTRICT HEIGHTS, PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY, MARYLAND, pursuant to the authority of Article 23A, Sec-
tion 12, of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition as amended,
that Section 22-50 of the present Charter of the City of District Heights,
as adopted January 20, 1962, be amended by deleting therefrom the pro-
vision that the taxes provided for in Section 22-48 of the Charter [shall
bear interest while in arrears at the rate of one-half of one percentum
(0.05) for each month or fraction of a month until paid] and substituting
therefor the provision that such taxes shall bear interest while in arrears
at the rate of
one percentum (1%) for each month or fraction of a
month until paid.
