eastern right-of-way line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to the south-
ern boundary of the Town of Berwyn Heights; thence easterly by and with
the said southern boundary line of the Town of Berwyn Heights to an inter-
section with the boundary of the City of Greenbelt on the eastern side of
the Edmonston Road; thence southerly by and with the boundary lines of
the City of Greenbelt, along the eastern side of the Edmonston Road, to an
intersection of said boundary with the prolongation of the northern right-
of-way line of Calvert Road extended; thence westerly along the prolonga-
tion and the said northern right-of-way line of Calvert Road to the west
bank of the Northeast Branch; thence southerly along the west bank of
the said Northeast Branch to the southern boundary of Kropp's Addition
to College Park; thence westerly along the said boundary of Kropp's Addi-
tion to College Park to the eastern boundary of the property of the Uni-
versity of Maryland and Athletic Board, Inc.; thence southerly and westerly
along the respective eastern and southern boundary lines of the said
property of the University of Maryland and Athletic Board, Inc., south
26° 13' 48" east 253.82 feet, thence south 05° 54' 12" west 362.22 feet,
thence south 76° 04' 48" east 131.53 feet, thence south 01° 58' 29" west
868.98 feet, thence north 86° 04' 56" west 1841.26 feet to the eastern
right-of-way line of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad; thence southerly
with the easterly line of said Railroad 155 feet more or less to a point;
thence westerly parallel to and 150 feet distant from the southern line of
Albion Road in a westerly direction to the western line of the Baltimore-
Washington Boulevard; thence northerly along the western line of the
Baltimore-Washington Boulevard to the point of beginning.

Resolution No. 71-R-3
TITLE

A Resolution to amend the Charter of the City of College Park,
Maryland to establish a special tax rate on all real property in the City
of College Park, Maryland. Such rate shall be in an amount not to
exceed nine (9¢) cents per one hundred ($100.00) dollars assessed
valuation and is hereby authorized for a period of not more than ten
(10) years. This Resolution relates to and for the purpose of financing
the Urban Renewal Project cost to the City of College Park, Maryland.

TEXT

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council, after full public hearings and
due deliberations, have approved the Urban Renewal Plan for the Lakeland
Area of the City of College Park, Maryland; and,

WHEREAS, the City must be able to finance its share of the cost of
said project, presently estimated to require real estate tax increase not
more than nine (9¢) cents per one hundred ($100.00) dollars of assessed
value; and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are desirous of spelling out and
limiting the purposes for which said funds once raised may be expended;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council
of the City of College Park, Maryland, that the Charter of the City of
College Park, Maryland, be amended by adding the following subsection
43-1 to Article XII, Section 43, entitled Tax Levy:

Subsection 43-1. In addition to the above tax rate, there shall be levied
against all real property in the City of College Park, a special tax rate of an
