caused as regards Ward Councilmen shall be filled from the ward in which
the vacancy occurs. The Mayor shall receive a remuneration from the
town of two hundred dollars ($200) per annum; and each Councilman a
remuneration of one hundred fifty dollars ($150) per annum, both payable
in two (2) equal semiannual payments, beginning at the end of six (6)
months from the date of qualification for the respective office. Provided,
however, that effective March 15, 1960, the Mayor shall receive a remunera-
tion from the town of six hundred dollars ($600) per annum and each
Councilman a remuneration of four hundred dollars ($400) per annum;
both payable in four (4) equal quarterly payments beginning on June 15,
1960.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a fair summary of this resolu-
tion be published not less than four (4) times at not less than weekly in-
tervals within a period of forty (40) days after the date of adoption in a
newspaper having general circulation in the Town of Cheverly and a com-
plete copy of the resolution shall be posted in a public place within Chev-
erly for a period of at least forty (40) days following its adoption.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment to the Charter
and Local Laws of the Town of Cheverly shall become and be considered
a part of the Charter, according to the terms of the amendment, and in all
respects to be effective and observed as such upon the fiftieth (50) day fol-
lowing the date of adoption unless on or before the fortieth (40) day after
adoption there shall be presented to the Mayor and Town Council of Chev-
erly a petition for referendum in accordance with Section 13 of Article 23A
of the Annotated Code of the Public General Laws of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion) , as amended.

Resolution to amend Article IV, "Officers" of the Charter and Local
Laws of the town of Cheverly, Maryland, by adding Section 10-A
thereto entitled "Recall of Elected Officials".
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Town Council of the Town of Cheverly,
are of the considered opinion that the section of the Town Charter relating
to elected officials should be amended to include provisions for their legal
recall from office ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDAINED BY
THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF CHEVERLY, MARYLAND,
that Article IV, "Officers" of the Charter and Local Laws of the Town of
Cheverly, Maryland, be and the same is hereby amended to read and provide
as hereinafter set forth:
