His innumerable accomplishments and contributions have brought
acclaim and prominence to the Baltimore Orioles; now, therefore,
be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That we con-
gratulate Frank Robinson for his accomplishments in playing the
game of baseball, express our appreciation to him for his contribu-
tions to the Baltimore Orioles baseball team, and express our well
wishes for his future as he leaves the Baltimore Orioles; and be it
further
Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate STATE of Maryland is
directed to send copies of this Resolution to Frank Robinson, The
Baltimore Orioles, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Baltimore Sun, The
Washington Post, and the Washington Star.

Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Department of Natural
Resources to report to the Legislative Council GENERAL AS-
SEMBLY WITHIN A CERTAIN TIME PERIOD concerning the
problem of boats abandoned in the waterways of the State.
Whereas, Abandoned boats are a serious problem in the water-
ways of the State; and
Whereas, These derelict vessels are hazardous to navigation and
constitute eyesores in many harbor areas; and
Whereas, With the tremendous increase in the number of boats
in Maryland waters there will be a corresponding increase in the
number of boats abandoned; and
WHEREAS, THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BY CHAPTER 793
OF THE LAWS OF 1969 ENACTED A PROCEDURE DESIGNED
TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF ABANDONED BOATS; AND
WHEREAS, THE PRESENT LAW PROVIDES A PROCEDURE
FOR ACTION BY THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RE-
SOURCES THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF CHESAPEAKE
BAY AFFAIRS TO TAKE NECESSARY ACTION ON THIS
PROBLEM; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Depart-
ment of Natural Resources is requested to study the problem of
abandoned boats; and be it further
Whereas, Under present it is difficult for an interested person
to legally destroy a derelict boat and neither the Federal nor the
State governments are ridding our waters of these unwanted
vessels; now, therefore, be it
