SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
Section 112C(a) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Natural
Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game and Fish," subheading "Fish and
Wildlife Administration" be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
112C.
(a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this article, the
Director of the Fish and Wildlife Administration is authorized, after
consultation with the committee created in subsection (c) of this
section and subject to approval by the Secretary of Natural Re-
sources, to promulgate regulations relating to the taking or catching,
possession, sale, purchase, transportation or export of any of the
fish, shellfish, or other living natural resources of the tidal waters of
this State. Such regulations may include, but not be limited to,
provisions enlarging, extending, restricting or prohibiting the taking
or catching, possession, sale, purchase, transportation or export of
any of the fish, shellfish, or other living natural resources of the
tidal waters of this State. This authority and any regulation promul-
gated under it shall terminate July 1 [1972] 1973.
SEC. 2. AND, BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT NEW
SECTION 112C(D) BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED TO
ARTICLE 66C OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND
(1970 REPLACEMENT VOLUME AND 1971 SUPPLEMENT),
TITLE "NATURAL RESOURCES," SUBTITLE "BIRDS, GAME
AND FISH," SUBHEADING "FISH AND WILDLIFE ADMIN-
ISTRATION," TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION
112C(C) THEREOF, AND TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
(D) THE COMMITTEE SHALL MEET WITH THE SECRE-
TARY OF NATURAL RESOURCES OR THE DIRECTOR OF
FISH AND WILDLIFE AT LEAST TWICE EACH CALENDAR
YEAR FOR PURPOSES OF A GENERAL POLICY REVIEW
SESSION, ONE MEETING TO BE HELD PRIOR TO THE OPEN-
ING OF THE ANNUAL OYSTER SEASON EACH FALL.
MEETINGS OF THE COMMITTEE MAY BE CONVENED ON
THE CALL OF THE SECRETARY OF NATURAL RESOURCES
OR THE DIRECTOR OF FISH AND WILDLIFE OR UPON RE-
QUEST OF A MAJORITY OF EITHER THE WATERMEN MEM-
BERS OR THE SEAFOOD PROCESSOR MEMBERS OF THE
COMMITTEE.
Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1972.
