(i) In Cecil County nothing in this article shall be construed to
restrict the sale of alcoholic beverages under any class of license
issued under this article or to restrict any person from consuming
any alcoholic beverage on any premises licensed under this article
between the hours of 12 o'clock midnight and 4 o'clock a.m. on
January 1st of any year or between the hours of 7 o'clock p.m. and
12 o'clock midnight, on December 31st in any year when December
31st falls on a Sunday except that in any year in which January 1st
falls on a Sunday, it shall be unlawful to sell alcoholic beverages
under any class of license or to consume any alcoholic beverages on
any licensed premises on January 1st between the hours of 4 o'clock
a.m. and 1 o'oclock p.m.

95B.

In Cecil County, notwithstanding any other provisions of this
subtitle, the hours during which sales of any alcoholic beverages
may be made under any class of license issued under this article on
any weekday are from 6 o'clock a.m. daily to 2 o'clock a.m. on the
following day, except that on Saturday the closing hour shall be
12 o'clock midnight, except as hereinafter provided. It is unlawful
for any person to sell or for any person to consume any alcoholic
beverages on any premises licensed under this article between the
hours of 2 o'clock a.m. and 6 o'clock a.m. on any day of the week or at
any time on Sunday, except that it is lawful for Class C "on-sale"
(clubs) beer, beer and light wine, or beer, wine and liquor licensees
in Cecil County to permit the use and consumption of alcoholic
beverages between the hours of 1 o'clock p.m. and 7 o'clock p.m. on
Sundays and except as provided in Section 89 (i) of this article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 620
(House Bill 1367)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 616½
of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," subtitle "Venue, Procedure and Sentence," subheading
"Indictments," to provide that persons released on bail or their

own recognizance for certain crimes shall be ineligible for bail

or for release on their own recognizance if they are charged

with a second or subsequent crimes, and to include certain crimes
in the list of crimes which result in ineligibility for bail or release

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 616½ of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1971 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title
"Crimes and Punishments," subtitle "Venue, Procedure and Sen-
tence," subheading "Indictments," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
