AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 244(a)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative De-
partments," subtitle "24 Administrative Procedure Act," to exempt
the State Accident Fund from the provisions of the Administrative
Procedure Act and to correct certain obsolete language therein.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 244(a) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Admin-
istrative Departments," subtitle "24 Administrative Procedure Act,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
244.
For the purpose of this subtitle:
(a) "Agency" means any State board, commission, department
or officer authorized by law to make rules or to adjudicate contested
cases, except those in the legislative or judicial branches, and except
the Department of Parole and Probation, the [State Industrial
Accident Commission! Workmen's Compensation Commission, the
State Accident Fund, the State Insurance Department of Maryland,
the Public Service Commission, the Employment Security Board and
the State Tax Commission.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
