(b) The Board shall give at least two examinations of the type
prescribed in paragraph (1) of this Section in each year, and addi-
tional examinations as the volume of applications makes appropriate.
(c) Every person engaged in the practice of audiology or speech
pathology on the effective date of this subtitle shall be licensed and
given a license by the Board without examination, IF the require-
ments for registration under special conditions are met and if the
person pays the fee specified for the license to the Board.
795. Registration and Issuance of Certificates, Fees.
(a) Upon payment of $50 THE FEE, the Board shall register
each applicant who satisfactorily passes the Registration require-
ments. Thereupon the Board shall issue to the applicant a certificate
of registration for Audiology or Speech Pathology. The certificate of
registration shall be effective for two years.
(b) If the Board determines that another state or jurisdiction
has requirements equivalent to or higher than those in effect pur-
suant to this subtitle for the practice of audiology or speech pathol-
ogy, and that state or jurisdiction has a program equivalent to or
stricter than the program for determining whether applicants pur-
suant to this subtitle are qualified to practice audiology or speech
pathology, the Board may issue certificates of endorsement to appli-
cants therefor who hold current, unsuspended, and unrevoked certifi-
cates or licenses to practice audiology or speech pathology in the other
state or jurisdiction. No applicant for a certificate of endorsement
pursuant to this subsection is required to submit to or undergo any
examination, investigation, or other procedure, other than the pay-
ment of fees pursuant to Sections 793 of this subtitle. The holder
of a certificate of endorsement shall be registered in the same manner
as holders of certificates of registration. The fee for an initial
certificate of endorsement shall be the same as the fee for an initial
certificate of registration. Fee, grounds, and procedures for renewal,
suspension and revocation of certificates of endorsement shall be the
same as for renewal, suspension, and revocation of certificates of
registration.
796. Temporary Certificate of Registration.
(a) An applicant who fulfills the requirements of Section 793
and who has not previously applied to take the examination pro-
vided under Section 794 may apply to the Board for a temporary
certificate of registration.
(b) Upon receiving an application provided under subsection
(a) of this Section accompanied by a fee of $10 IN AN AMOUNT
ESTABLISHED BY THE BOARD, the Board shall issue a tem-
porary certificate of registration which entitles the applicant to
practice audiology or speech pathology for a period ending eight
weeks after the conclusion of the next examination given after the
date of issue.
(c) No temporary certificate of registration shall be issued by
the Board under this Section unless the applicant shows to the satis-
faction of the Board that he is or will be supervised and trained
by a person who holds a valid certificate of registration or certifi-
cate of endorsement issued under this subtitle.
