SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 169 and
172 SECTION 169 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1968 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Dorchester County Liquor Con-
trol Board and Dispensary," to add a County Commissioner as an
ex officio member of the liquor board TO CHANGE THE AP-
POINTMENT POWER OF THE GOVERNOR IN THE CASE
OF A VACANCY, to provide for the meetings of the liquor board,
THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETINGS, to change AND TO AU-
THORIZE A CHANGE IN the number and location of liquor dis-
pensaries, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS and to pro-
vide for the disbursement of the proceeds of the liquor dispen-
saries in Dorchester County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 169 and 172 SECTION 169 of Article 2B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1971
Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Dorchester
County Liquor Control Board and Dispensary," be and they are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
169.
(a) In Dorchester County, there shall be a liquor control board
to consist of [three] four THREE members, [who] three of whom
WHO shall first be appointed by the Governor for terms of two, three,
and four years; thereafter their successors shall be appointed by the
Governor for terms of four years. The Governor may appoint a per-
son to fill a vacancy in the board of those members appointed by him
for the unexpired portion of the term. The fourth member of the board
shall be a member of Dorchester County Commissioners who shall
serve as an ex officio member of the Board and shall be appointed by
the Commissioners for a period, in their discretion, of not more than
four nor less than one year; and the Commissioners may appoint one
of their members to fill a vacancy in the Board of the ex officio mem-
ber for the unexpired portion of the term. The board shall designate
a chairman and a secretary from among its members.
(b) Each member of the board shall receive an annual salary of
$1,000.00 and the board shall hold at least one scheduled meeting a
month to perform the duties imposed on them by this subtitle.
(c) The board shall MAY establish and maintain [two] five FOUR
