lines, a square or box to the right of and opposite the words "For the
Sale," and a corresponding square or box to the right of and opposite
the words "Against the Sale," so that each voter of the 2nd Election
District of the county is able to designate his or her decision for or
against this Act. If a majority of the votes cast in the election in
the 2nd Election District of the County are "For the Sale," then
this Act shall become immediately effective EFFECTIVE DECEM-
BER 7, 1972, but if a majority of the votes cast in the 2nd Election
District of the County are "Against the Sale," then this Act is null
and void.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That subject to the provisions
of Section 2 HEREIN AND SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROVIDING FOR THE REFERENDUM THEREIN REQUIRED,
this Act shall take effect July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 124(b)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative De-
partments," subtitle "Division of Parole and Probation," providing
that parole agents shall provide judges with presentence reports
or other investigations when requested by any judge and limiting
PROVIDING FOR the availability of these reports.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 124 (b) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Admin-
istrative Departments," subtitle "Division of Parole and Probation,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments and
to read as follows:
124.
(b) The parole agents of the Department shall provide the judges
of said courts with presentence reports or other investigations in
all cases [which may include commitment for two or more years,]
when requested by any judge. The presentence reports will SHALL
be made available , UPON REQUEST, to the defendant DEFEND-
ANT'S or his attorney or AND the State's Attorney's Office. How-
ever the presentence reports are SHALL BE confidential and not
available for public inspection except upon court order or for use
by any correctional institution. Such agents shall also perform such
other probationary services as the said judges may from time to
time request.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
