need for waste water purification projects included in the approved
county water and sewerage plans adopted in compliance with Article
43, Section 387C of this Code. The five-year plan shall designate
those existing facilities or portions of them that shall be transferred
to the jurisdiction of the Service, improvements to and extension of
existing facilities, construction of new waste water purification and
solid waste disposal projects, and the proposed methods of acquisi-
tion, ownership and operation by the Service and/or affected munic-
ipalities and persons, together with anticipated expenditures, sources
of revenue, charges for projects to be levied against municipalities
and persons, and related matters the Service finds necessary and
convenient.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

(House Bill 535)
AN ACT to add new Sections 3(m) and 5(m) to Article 33B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1971 Supplement) title "Environmental Service" and to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Sections 1, 3(d), 3(e), 3(f), 3(g),
3(k), 3B(c), 4(j), 4(1), 4(m), 4(n), 4(q), 5(a), 5(b), 5(c), 5(d),
5(f), 5(h), 6(a), 7(a), 7(e), 11(a), 25(a), and 28 of the said
article and title, to authorize fee THE Maryland Environmental
Service to plan and provide water supply projects in the same gen-
eral manner as it provides wastewater purification projects and
solid waste disposal projects.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 3(m) and 5(m) be and they are hereby added to
Article 33B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume AND 1971 SUPPLEMENT), title "Environmental Service"
to follow immediately after Sections 3(1) and 5(1) respectively, and
to read as follows:

(m) The term "water supply project" means the services, facil-
ities or properties used or useful or having present capacity for
future use in connection with the supply and distribution of water,
including water treatment facilities and all properties and rights
therein and appurtenances thereto.

(m) Within a water supply service district the Service shall be
responsible for the supply and distribution of water as set forth in
the five-year plan.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Sections 1, 3(d), 3(e),
3(f), 3(g), 3(k), 3B(c), 4(j), 4(1), 4(m), 4(n), 4(q), 5(a), 5(b),
