(House Bill 204)
AN ACT to add new Section 195(b-2) to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume), title and subtitle
"Crimes and Punishments," subheading "Fraud—False Adver-
tisements," to follow immediately after Section 195(b-1), making
it unlawful to sell or dispose of used merchandise; unless the
merchandise is clearly identified as used merchandise and is
marked as such on the bill of sale REPOSSESSED, REBUILT
OR SECOND-HAND MERCHANDISE UNLESS IT IS IDEN-
TIFIED AS SUCH.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 195 (b-2) be and it is hereby added to Article 27
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume),
title and subtitle "Crimes and Punishments," subheading "Fraud—
False Advertisements," to follow immediately after Section 195 (b-1)
thereof, and to read as follows:
195.
(b-2) It is unlawful for any person to sell or dispose of used
merchandise unless the merchandise is clearly identified as used
merchandise and is marked as such on the bill of sale NO PERSON
SHALL OFFER FOR SALE REPOSSESSED, RECONDITIONED,
REBUILT OR SECOND-HAND MERCHANDISE, KNOWING THE
MERCHANDISE TO BE SUCH, UNLESS THE MERCHANDISE IS
CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AS SUCH, OR UNLESS THE CIR-
CUMSTANCES OF THE SALE MAKES IT CLEAR TO THE
A REASONABLE PURCHASER THAT THE MERCHANDISE
IS REPOSSESSED, RECONDITIONED, REBUILT OR SECOND-
HAND.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

(House Bill 209)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 88 of
Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement
Volume), title "Chancery," subtitle "Adoption," to remove some
restrictions regarding adoption in Washington County, and
generally relating thereto.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 88 of Article 16 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1966 Replacement Volume), title "Chancery," subtitle "Adoption,"
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
