If any provision of this subtitle or the application thereof to any
person, court, or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does
not affect other provisions or applications of the subtitle which can
be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to
this end the provisions of this subtitle are severable.
169.
This subtitle shall be so construed as to effectuate its general
purpose to make uniform the law of those states which enact it.
170.
This subtitle may be cited as the Uniform Certification of Ques-
tions of Law Act.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 698(b)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Supple-
ment), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters and Clams,"
: reducing CONCERNING the fee FEES for licenses to take oysters
or clams. fey dredge or handscrape.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 698(b) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1971 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Oysters
and Clams," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
698.
(b) No person shall take or catch oysters or clams for market in
the waters of this State who has not been duly licensed as provided
in the regulations of the Fish and Wildlife Administration. No li-
cense shall be required under the provisions of this subtitle for any
person to take or catch up to one bushel of oysters from the natural
oyster bars of the State for his own use and consumption, and not
for sale or marketing provided that such oysters may be taken only
in such places and at such times as may be prescribed by regulations
of the Fish and Wildlife Administration. Notwithstanding any other
provisions of this article, fees for issuance of licenses to take or
catch oysters or clams for commercial purposes by means enumer-
ated in Sections 698(a), 712, 712A and 712B shall be as follows:
