(Senate Bill 301)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 360 (b)
of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative
Departments," subtitle "Capital City Commission," to correct
the designations of certain State officials who are members of the
Capital City Commission, to authorize the Governor of Maryland
to designate himself or the Lieutenant Governor of Maryland
or the Secretary of State of Maryland to serve as a member of
the Commission, and to correct and clarify the language relating
to the composition of the Commission in light of this change as
well as possible changes in the number of Senators who may be
representing Anne Arundel County. TO CHANGE THE MEM-
BERSHIP OF THE CAPITAL CITY COMMISSION, TO COR-
RECT THE NAMES OF CERTAIN MEMBERS AND TO PRO-
VIDE FOR ALTERNATE MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 360 (b) of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Governor—Executive and
Administrative Departments," subtitle "Capital City Commission,"
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
360.
(b) Membership.—The membership of the Commission [is com-
posed of thirteen (13) persons, chosen or specified] shall be as
follows: The President of the Senate of Maryland; the Speaker
of the House of Delegates of Maryland; the [Director] Secretary
of State Planning for Maryland; the State Senators [for] rep-
resenting Anne Arundel County or any portion thereof; the mayor
of the City of Annapolis; the county executive of Anne Arundel
County; the superintendent of the United States Naval Academy
at Annapolis; and four persons to be appointed by the Governor
of Maryland of which one he shall designate as chairman of the
Commission. In addition, the Governor of Maryland is authorized
to designate from time to time himself or the Lieutenant Governor
of Maryland or the Secretary of State of Maryland to serve as a
member of the Commission. THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
OR THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES MAY
DESIGNATE, RESPECTIVELY, A MEMBER OF THE SENATE
OR THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES TO REPRESENT THEM AT
MEETINGS OF THE COMMISSION.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
