elected judges and retired elected judges who died before June 1,
1955. In determining the amount which any widow is entitled to be
paid after July 1, 1962, the pension of the deceased judge shall be
calculated at the rates prescribed by Section 49 of Article 26, as of
that date, notwithstanding that such judge may have died prior
thereto.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

(Senate Bill 826)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 160 (h)
(2) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Re-
placement Volume), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter
14½. Employee Organizations," to provide that the matters agreed
upon in negotiations may include a provision for binding arbitra-
tion of grievances.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 160 (h) (2) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Public Education,"
subtitle "Chapter 14½. Employee Organizations," be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
160.
(h) (2) The term "negotiate" as used herein shall include the duty
to confer in good faith, at all reasonable times, and to reduce to
writing the matters agreed upon as the result of such negotiations,
and such agreements may include a provision for the binding arbi-
tration of grievances arising under such terms of the agreement as
the parties have agreed to be arbitratable.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
