(1970 Supplement), title "Limitations of Actions," be and it is
nereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

18.

(a)(l) No action shall be maintained and no claim shall be
allowed against any municipal corporation or against any of the
counties enumerated in this subsection for unliquidated damages for
any injury or damage to person or property unless within the times
specified in this section after the injury or damage was sustained,
written notice [thereof] setting forth the time, place or cause of the
alleged damage, loss, injury or death shall be presented either in per-
son or by registered mail by the claimant, his agent or attorney, or in
the case of death, by his executor or administrator, to the county
commissioners, county council, the corporate authorities of the
municipal corporation or the city solicitor of Baltimore City, as the
case may be. In Montgomery County, such written notice shall be
presented to the county executive.

(2) The provisions of this subsection shall be applicable within
Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Fred-
erick Harford, Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's,
St. Mary's, Washington, Wicomico and Worcester counties.

      (b) In the following counties: Baltimore, Charles, Harford,
Kent, Montgomery, Prince George's, Queen Anne's, Washington,
Wicomico and Worcester the time within which [such] the claim
must be presented is one hundred and eighty (180) days.

(c) [In any municipal corporation and in] In the following
counties: Anne Arundel, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Frederick and St.
Marys, the time within which notification of intention to make
[such] the claim must be presented is ninety (90) days. In Balti-
more City and in all municipal corporations notification of intention

to make a claim must be presented within one hundred and eighty

(180) days.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

CHAPTER 407
(House Bill 641)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108(4)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supple-
ment), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrates
System,' amending the laws concerning the pension or salary
paid after the termination of active service to the full-time Trial
Magistrate of Calvert County, and correcting an error therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(4) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial
