(House Bill 284)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 127 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement
Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds, Game and
Inland Water Fish," subheading "Hunter's License," to delete that
section of the law requiring a hunter to display a tag on his outer
garment.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 127 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Hunter's
License," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
127.
Every license so issued shall entitle the person to whom it is issued
to hunt game which is protected by law and for nonresidents to hunt
wild birds and wild animals, in addition to the aforementioned game
birds and game animals and fur-bearing animals in any county
within the State at any time during the lawful open season1, provided
that every licensee while hunting as aforesaid shall have upon his
person the license referred to above, [and every licensee, with the
exception of those hunting wild waterfowl, shall display a tag bearing
his license number in figures at least one inch in height fastened
upon his outer garment in such manner that the figures are visible
at all times while hunting.] The license must be produced for the
inspection of the Director, wildlife officer, sheriffs, constables, or
other officers or any landowner or his representative demanding to
see it.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
