1970 Supplement), title "Revenues and Taxes," subtitle "Retail
Sales Tax Act," to follow immediately after subsection (bb) thereof,
to include certain credit unions organized under the laws of the
State of Maryland within the exemption section of the Retail Sales
Tax Act.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,'
That new subsection (cc) be and it is hereby added to Section 326
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement
Volume and 1970 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle
"Retail Sales Tax Act," to follow immediately after subsection (bb)
thereof, and to read as follows:

326.

(cc) Sales to any credit union organized under the laws of the
State of Maryland.

Sec. 2. And be further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 276
(House Bill 140)

AN ACT to add new Section 68A to Article 39B 89B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "State
Roads," subtitle "Powers and Duties," to follow immediately after
Section 68 thereof requiring the State Roads Commission to con-
struct sidewalks adjacent to certain urban-type highways under
certain conditions and providing for the maintenance REPAIR
of such sidewalks.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 68A be and it is hereby added to Article 89B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title
"State Roads," subtitle "Powers and Duties," to follow immediately
after Section 68 of said Article and to read as follows:

68A.

The State Roads Commission shall, upon the request of the local
governing body of any political subdivision
COUNTY COMMISSION-
ERS OR THE COUNTY COUNCIL, WITH THE CONCURRENCE
OF THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE WHERE THERE IS AN
ELECTED COUNTY EXECUTIVE, which request has been con-
curred in by a majority of the Members of the Legislature
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY from such county, include the construction of sidewalks
on any urban-type highway improvement provided in the 1972 or
subsequent fiscal year Highway Construction or Reconstruction Pro-
grams.
SUCH REQUEST AND CONCURRENCE SHALL BE
MADE TO THE COMMISSION BEFORE THE COMMISSION
