an item contained in said Act for the Department of Maryland
State Police relating to construction of the Hagerstown Post, and
to extend for two more years the period during which the said
item may be placed under contract.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the provisions of Section 10 of Chapter 409 of the Acts of 1969
be and they are hereby waived insofar as they impose a time for
placing under contract an item, Section 5 (E) (2), in said Chapter
409 and found on Page 995 of the Laws of 1969, making available to
the Department of State Police the sum of $362,500 for the con-
struction of the Hagerstown Post. There shall be allowed an addi-
tional period of two years, beginning on the effective date of this
Act, for placing this project under contract. If this project shall not
have been placed under contract within a period of two years begin-
ning on the effective date of this Act, then it shall be deemed to have
been abandoned and the other provisions of Section 10 of Chapter
409 of the Acts of 1969 shall be fully effective as to this project.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July JUNE 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 249

(Senate Bill 580)

AN ACT to add new Section 7B to Article 78A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume) (1970 Supplement),
title "Public Works," subtitle "Board of Public Works," to follow
immediately after Section 7A thereof, to provide for the Board
of Public Works to approve all acquisitions of State owned pas-
senger motor vehicles under standards and specifications which
shall be established by the Board of Public Works.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 7B be and it is hereby added to Article 78A of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume) (1970
Supplement), title "Public Works," subtitle "Board of Public Works,"
to follow immediately after Section 7A thereof, to read as follows:

7B.

Any acquisition of a passenger motor vehicle to be used by any
State Officer or Employee, to be purchased with funds appropriated
for such purpose, shall be supervised and approved by the Board of
Public Works, and said acquisitions shall comply with standard
specifications, including but not limited to the price to be paid for
said vehicles, as established by the Board of Public Works.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of
this Act are repealed to the extent of the inconsistency.
