[Provided, that such license shall not authorize the taking or catch-
ing of crabs in any creek, cove, river, inlet, bay or sound within the
limits of any county other than that wherein the license shall have
been granted; provided that nothing in this section shall be so
construed as to prevent the citizens of counties divided by a river
from using such dividing river in common.] All persons taking or
catching crabs under the provisions of this subheading shall exhibit
their license for so doing when required by any officer of the Maryland
marine police force, or other officers of the State; provided that a
license shall not be required of any person crabbing from a "for
hire" boat operated by the owner who is present on the boat and is
licensed to take crabs for market. Nonresidents of Maryland shall
not be permitted to catch crabs from the waters thereof for market.
[Residents of Baltimore City may be licensed to catch crabs in
Anne Arundel or Baltimore Counties. And providing further that in
all the waters of the Chesapeake Bay lying near the mouth of the
Patuxent River, viz.; that is to say, those waters above a line drawn
at Cedar Point in St. Mary's County to Cove Point in Calvert County,
and below a line drawn from Drum Point in Calvert County to Hog
Point in St. Mary's County, crabbing with a trotline is prohibited by
any except bona fide residents of the counties bordering on the
Patuxent River.] No person sixty-four years of age or older or less
than fourteen years of age shall be required to pay the license fee
specified in this section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

(House Bill 1278)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 302 of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement
Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish and Fisheries,"
subheading "Part 2. Tidal Waters," increasing the fee for issuance
of gill net license.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 302 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Replacement Volume), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Fish
and Fisheries," subheading "Part 2. Tidal Waters," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

302.

The following fees shall be charged for issuances of licenses to
take or catch fish for commercial purposes;

(a) Fyke, hoop net, or pot (except eel pots).—$0.50 for each fyke,
or hoop net, plus $0.50 for each 10 yards of lead or hedging used in
connection therewith; $1.00 for any number of pots. Catfish pots
licensed under the provisions of this section may be fished in any of
