CHAPTER 105
(Senate Bill 790)

AN ACT to add new Section 9 (11L) (40G) to Article 81 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1970 Supplement), title "Revenue and
Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be Taxed and Where," to follow
immediately after Section 9 (11K) (40F) thereof, to eliminate the
COUNTY tax on livestock in Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 9 (11L) (40G) be and it is hereby added to Article
81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supplement), title
"Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be Taxed and Where,"
to follow immediately after Section 9 (11K) (40F) thereof, and to
read as follows:

9.

(11L) (40G) For the purpose of county taxation in Prince George's
County the livestock of any bona fide farmer shall be entirely exempt
from assessment and taxation.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

Approved April 23, 1971.

CHAPTER 106
(House Bill 28)

AN ACT to repeal Section 468 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1969 Cumulative Supplement 1971 REPLACEMENT
VOLUME), title AND SUBTITLE "Crimes and Punishments,"
subheading "Refuse—Throwing or Dumping; Dumps, Junk Yards,
etc.," and to enact new Section 468 in lieu thereof, to stand in
the place of the section repealed, and to be under the new sub-
heading "Litter Control Law," to define, control and prohibit the
littering of public or private property; to provide for a short title;
to provide for a declaration of intent; to provide for definitions; to
provide that it shall be unlawful for any person to litter public or
private property; to provide penalties therefor; to provide for
prima facie evidence under certain circumstances; to provide for the
enforcement of this Act by law enforcement agents and officers; to
provide that proper authorities and agencies shall provide recep-
tacles for the deposit of litter; to provide for severability; to repeal
conflicting laws; and relating generally to prohibiting littering
throughout the State of Maryland.
