Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 214 (d) and 214 (f) of Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume and 1970 Supplement),
title "Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," be and it is hereby-
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
214.
(d) The Commission, subject to the approval of the Secretary
of Licensing and Regulation, [may] shall also employ, within the
Classified Employees System, [two] five or more field inspectors to
make investigations as are required by the provisions of SECTION
224 (a) of this subtitle [, who shall serve at the pleasure of the
Commission]. Two (2) of these inspectors shall be assigned exclu-
sively to areas of the state which are experiencing significant neigh-
borhood instability. Said persons may be removed without cause by
either the Commission or the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation,
provided that the Commission shall not remove said persons without
the approval of the Secretary of Licensing and Regulation. The
Attorney General of Maryland may appoint a qualified attorney-at-
law, who shall serve at the pleasure of the Attorney General, to
represent the Commission in conducting hearings on charges against
licensees and said attorney-at-law shall receive such compensation
as is provided in the budget of the Commission.
(f) The positions of all officers and employees of the Commission,
including field inspectors, except members of the Commission and
the executive director, are included in the classified service of this
State and are subject in all respects to the provisions of Article 64A
of this Code and to all rights, duties, and privileges provided in
Article 64A and elsewhere in the laws of this State for members of
the classified service.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 70
(Senate Bill 316)
AN ACT to add new Section 215(c) to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Licenses,"
subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 215(b) thereof, to provide for periodic public meetings of
the Real Estate Commission, and matters relating generally
thereto.

That new Section 215(c) be and it is hereby added to Article 56 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1968 Replacement Volume), title
"Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," to follow immediately
