CHAPTER 61
(Senate Bill 235)

AN ACT to add new Section 3-605 (d) to Article 66½ of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Ve-
hicle Laws," subtitle "Certificates of Title and Registration of
Vehicles," subheading "Part VI. Special Plates for Dealers, Trans-
porters and Finance Companies," to follow immediately after
Section 3-605 (c) thereof, to provide for the issuance of special
registration plates for volunteer firemen under certain conditions.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 3-605 (d) be and it is hereby added to Article 66½
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume),
title "Vehicle Laws," subtitle "Certificates of Title and Registration
of Vehicles," subheading "Part VI. Special Plates for Dealers, Trans-
porters and Finance Companies," to follow immediately after Section
3-605 (c) and to read as follows:

3-605.

(d) Upon application to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles by
the owner of any registered passenger motor vehicle AND PICK-UP
TRUCK NOT EXCEEDING ONE-HALF TON, beginning with
the 1972-1973 registration year and accompanied with due proof
that the owner is a bona fide member of a volunteer fire department,
and upon payment of all fees required by this article, the Department
of Motor Vehicles shall issue for the passenger motor vehicle special
registration plates, , SUBJECT TO THE RULES AND REGULA-
TIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES,

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 62
(Senate Bill 236)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2-3 (a)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Election Code," subtitle "Election Boards
and Employees," to increase the salary for members of the Board
of Supervisors of Elections in Montgomery County, and an addi-
tional sum for its chairman.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2-3 (a) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1971 Replacement Volume), title "Election Code," subtitle
"Election Boards and Employees," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
