Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 33 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1968 Replacement Volume and 1970 Supplement), title "Insurance
Code," subtitle "Insurance Division and Insurance Commissioner"
be and the same is hereby repealed and that new Section 33 be and
the same is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows:

33.

[Each person so examined, other than as to examinations pur-
suant to Section 31, shall pay to the Commissioner the travel ex-
penses, a reasonable living expense allowance, and a per diem as
compensation of examiners, as necessarily incurred on account of
the examination, all at reasonable rates customary therefor and as
established or adopted by the Commissioner, upon presentation of a
detailed account of such charges and expenses by the Commissioner.
Such an account may be so presented periodically during the course
of the examination or at the termination of the examination, as the
Commissioner deems proper. No person shall pay and no examiner
shall accept any additional emolument on account of any such ex-
amination.]

The expense incurred in any examination made pursuant to this
Article
SECTION 30 OF THIS ARTICLE AND ANY EXAMINA
TION OF A SURPLUS
LINE BROKER MADE PURSUANT TO
SECTION 31 OF THIS ARTICLE shall be paid for by the person
examined, as follows:

(i) Each person examined shall pay to the Commissioner the
travel expenses, living expense allowance, and a per diem as com-
pensation
OF EXAMINERS AND TYPISTS, to the extent incurred
on account of the examination, all at reasonable rates as established
by the Commissioner.

(ii) A detailed account of the expense incurred may be presented
to the person examined periodically during the course of the exami-
nation or at the termination of the examination, as the Commissioner
deems proper.

(iii) No person shall pay and no examiner shall accept any addi-
tional emolument on account of any examination.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
