CHAPTER 37
(Senate Bill 7)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 88 of
Article 40 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supplement),
title "General Assembly," subtitle "Members To Be Furnished
Code," amending the laws concerning furnishing codes to members
of the General Assembly in order to make general provision for
the return of such materials at the end of the member's tenure
in the General Assembly SUBJECT TO A CERTAIN EXCEP-
TION.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 88 of Article 40 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1970 Supplement), title "General Assembly," subtitle "Members To
Be Furnished Code," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
Upon request each member of the House of Delegates or Senate
of Maryland shall be provided, out of State funds, a set of the
Annotated Code of Maryland for his personal use so long as he re-
mains a member; such Code and the individual volumes thereof shall
be kept up to date at all times at State expense. At the end of the
member's tenure in the General Assembly, he shall return the set
of the Code, complete and with the latest supplements or replace-
ment volumes, to the Legislative Accounting Office, PROVIDED
THAT IF THE MEMBER'S SET OF THE CODE HAS BEEN
DESTROYED OR LOST BY ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BEYOND
HIS CONTROL, HE SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO REIM-
BURSE THE LEGISLATIVE ACCOUNTING OFFICE UPON
THE SUBMISSION OF ADEQUATE PROOF OF THE LOSS OR
DESTRUCTION.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 38
(Senate Bill 34)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 51, 67,
SECTION 69, 92, 100 and 145 (d) of Article 26 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume and 1970 Supple-
ment), title "Courts," subtitles "Juvenile Causes," "Minors With-
out Proper Care or Guardianship," and "District Courts," respec-
tively, providing that district courts shall have concurrent juris-
diction over juvenile causes with the circuit courts, relating gen-
erally thereto, and correcting an error in the law. SUBTITLE
"JUVENILE CAUSES," TO PROVIDE THAT IN BALTIMORE
COUNTY THE ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT
