vent such unlawful construction, reconstruction, erection, alteration or
use, and any court of competent jurisdiction is hereby granted jurisdiction
to issue restraining orders and temporary or permanent injunctions or
mandamus or other appropriate forms of remedy or relief.
79-27. Section 124.2 amended.
Any person who shall continue any work in or about the building
after having been served with a stop order except such work as he is
directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe conditions, shall be
liable to a fine of not more than one thousand dollars.
Section 4. Chapter 81, titled "Child Care," Section 81-5, of the Mont-
gomery County Code 1965, is hereby amended as follows:
81-5. Violations and penalty.
Any person who shall violate the provisions of this Chapter shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined not
more than one thousand dollars or imprisoned for not more than six months.
Section 5. Chapter 82, titled "Eating and Drinking Establishments,"
Section 82-9, of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby amended
as follows:
82-9. Violations, penalty and injunctive relief.
Any violation of the provisions of this Chapter shall constitute a
misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punishable by a fine of not
more than one thousand dollars or six months in jail, or both, in the
discretion of the court. Each violation of any of the provisions of this
Chapter shall constitute a separate offense. In addition thereto, the County
may institute injunction, mandamus or any other appropriate action or
proceeding at law or equity for the enforcement of this Chapter or to
correct violations of this Chapter, and any court of competent jurisdiction
shall have the right to issue restraining orders, temporary or permanent
injunctions or mandamus or other appropriate forms of remedy or relief.
Section 6. Chapter 83, titled "Electricity" (Electrical Code), Section
83-21, of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby amended as follows:
83-21. Violations and penalty.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this Article shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars or imprisonment
for a period not exceeding six months.
Section 7. Chapter 86, titled "Fire Prevention Code," Section 86-22,
of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby amended as follows:
86-22. Penalty and other remedies for violations.
Failure to comply with any provision of this Chapter shall constitute
a misdemeanor, and any person, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not
more than one thousand dollars or sentenced to not more than six months
in jail or both. Each day that a violation continues shall be deemed a
separate offense. In addition thereto, the County may institute injunction,
mandamus or any other appropriate action or proceeding at law or in
equity for the enforcement of this Chapter or to correct violations of this
Chapter, and any court of competent jurisdiction shall have the right to
issue restraining orders, temporary or permanent injunctions or mandamus
or other appropriate forms of remedy or relief.
