ments, Section 2-42, title "Bonds of officers and employees," to provide
that bonds furnished by county officers and employees shall be ap-
proved by the county executive in such penalty and with such surety
as approved by the county executive.
Be It Enacted by the County Council for Montgomery County, Mary-
land, that—
Section 1. Section 2-42, Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
2-42. Bonds of officers and employees.
(a) All officers and employees in the department of finance including
the director shall furnish a bond to the county either separately or as a
group or in groups, and each bond shall be approved by the county executive
and the premium therefor shall be paid by the county.
(b) All employees of the county who handle funds of the county,
any part or subdivision thereof, or any agency operating therein, are
hereby required to be bonded either individually or in group to the county
in such penalty as may' be prescribed by the county executive, with a
surety to be approved by the county executive, conditioned that such em-
ployee will well and faithfully perform his duties as an employee of the
county, and will account for and pay over to the director of finance all sums
of money so received by such employee.
Section 2. Effective date.
This Act shall take effect on December 7, 1970.

An Act to amend Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the Mont-
gomery County Code 1965, by repealing and re-enacting, with amend-
ments, Section 2-45, title "Cost accounting systems," to authorize the
county executive to establish a cost accounting system.
Be It Enacted by the County Council for Montgomery County, Mary-
land, that—
Section 1. Section 2-45, Chapter 2, title "Administration," of the
Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
2-45. Cost accounting systems.
The county executive is hereby authorized in his discretion to install
a cost accounting system or systems in any office, agency or branch of the
county government and to require that the accounts of such office, agency
or branch shall be kept in accordance with the system thus prescribed and
installed.
Section 2. This Act shall take effect on December 7, 1970.
