85-1. Minimum standards for fire departments.

(f) Inspections. A six-man committee shall make the necessary
inspections to assure compliance with these standards. The committee
shall be composed of five members appointed by the county fire board from
its own members and one member appointed by the county executive. At
least three members of this committee shall be in attendance and certify
to such inspections. Committee members shall not be eligible for inspection
of their own department. Such inspections shall be made at least
annually and a written report made to the county fire board. In event of
failure to pass such inspection, the department shall be notified in writing
and given such time as deemed necessary by the inspection committee to
correct the noted discrepancies.
Section 9. Section 85-2, Chapter 85, title "Fire Departments," of
the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
85-2. Notice of compliance with section 85-1.
The county fire board shall make known, in writing, to the county
executive the names of the several fire companies satisfying the standards
for fire departments in the county, as established by section 85-1 of this
Code, and approved as the result of the inspections made by its committee.
Such approval in writing shall constitute authority for the director of
finance to pay over to the several qualifying fire companies the amounts
provided by section 27-1 of this Code.
Section 10. Section 86-4, Chapter 86, title "Fire Prevention Code,"
of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
86-4. Administration and enforcement of chapter.
The division of fire protection, under the direction of the fire marshal
is hereby authorized and directed to administer and enforce the provisions
of this chapter.
Section 11. Section 86-19, Chapter 86, title "Fire Prevention Code,"
of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
86-19. Annual report of fire marshal.
The fire marshal shall prepare and submit annually a report to the
county executive summarizing the activities of his office and containing
tabulations of all fires, together with their causes and estimated amounts
of damage.
Section 12. Subsection (a) of Section 95-13, Chapter 95, title "Plumb-
ing and Gas Fitting," of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
95-13. Administration of chapter; right of entry.
(a) This chapter shall be administered by the director of the de-
partment of inspection and licenses.
Section 13. Subsections (a) and (j) of Section 96-5, Chapter 96,
title "Police," of the Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
