2284                               County Local Laws

licensees, being an "Electrical Contractor" and "Electrical Contrac-
tor Limited"; to provide for the establishment of a Board of Electrical
Examiners composed of five (5) members, residents of the County,
which Board shall be empowered to provide for the examination of
licensees, and shall be further empowered to grant, deny, revoke, or
suspend licenses after hearing, subject to appeal to the County Board
of Appeals; to provide standards for the granting, denial, revocation,
and suspension of licenses; to require certain performance bonds and
liability insurance; to provide for compensation for Board members,
for administrative procedures, and the enforcement of the Act; and
to provide penalties for violation of the law.

Be It Enacted by the County Council for Montgomery County
Maryland,
that—

Section 1. Article II, Chapter 83, title "Electrical Contractor's
License," Montgomery County Code 1965, is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

ARTICLE II. Electrical Contractor's License

DIVISION I. GENERALLY
Sec. 83-22. Definitions.

As used in this Article, the following words and phrases shall have
the meanings, respectively ascribed to them by this section:

Board. The term "board" shall mean the board of electrical examiners
created by this Article.

Director. The term "director" shall mean the director of the depart-
ment of inspection and licenses.

Inspector. The term "inspector" shall mean an authorized agent of
the department of inspection and licenses.

Licensee. The term "licensee" shall mean any person, firm, company,
corporation or partnership to whom a license has been issued hereunder.

Electrical Contractor. The term "electrical contractor" shall mean a
person, firm, company, corporation or partnership, principally engaged in
business, and holding themselves out to the public as being licensed by
Montgomery County, to contract to install, repair, maintain, erect and
design electrical equipment, apparatus and systems, within the purview of
the National Electrical Code, Montgomery County Electrical Code, and all
the latest and current editions and amendments thereto, including, but
not limited to electrical raceways, conductors, fixtures, signs, motors,
switchgears and distribution systems, fixed electric heating systems or any
other fixed electrical equipment or apparatus which conducts or consumes
electricity.

Electrical Contractor Limited. The term "electrical contractor lim-
ited" shall mean a person, firm, company, corporation or partnership, prin-
cipally engaged in business, and holding themselves out to the public as
being licensed by Montgomery County to contract to install, repair and
maintain a particular appliance, apparatus, device, or fixture within the
purview of the National Electrical Code, Montgomery County Electrical
Code, and all the latest and current editions and amendments thereto,
and limited to a branch circuit or feeder for elevators; gasoline pumps;
automatic heating furnaces whose principal operation is derived from fuel
