2128                               Municipal Charters

clear certified copy of this Resolution, showing the number of Councilmen
voting for and against it and a report on the votes cast for or against
said amendments hereby enacted at any referendum thereon and the date
of such referendum.

The above Charter amendment was enacted by the foregoing Resolu-
tion which was passed at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council, held
October 14, 1969, 1 Councilman voting in the affirmative and 0 Councilmen
voting in the negative, and the Mayor voting in the affirmative and said
Resolution became effective in accordance with law on the 3rd day of
December 1969.

Resolution No. 1-A-1970

A RESOLUTION of the City of Laurel Adopted Pursuant to the
provisions of Article 23A, Sections 11 through 18, titled Corporations-
Municipal, subtitled Charter Amendments, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition as amended) to amend the Charter of the
City of Laurel, Section 49-8 entitled Wards—Boundaries by the
inclusion of additional territory within Ward No. 4.

THEREFORE: be it enacted and ordained by the Mayor and City
Council of Laurel, Maryland, that Section 49-8 of the Charter of the
City of Laurel, titled Wards—Boundaries, be amended to read as
follows:

Ward No. 4. The fourth ward shall embrace all of the town known as
and called the "Fairlawn" District of Laurel, as the same is described and
delimited in and by Section 852A of Chapter 6 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, passed at its Special Session of 1950, the same
being Section 977 (a) of the 1953 Edition of the Code of Public Local laws
of Prince George's County, being Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, compiled and edited by Carl N. Everstine. In addition
it shall embrace all of the town lying Southerly of the Southerly limits of
the "Fairlawn" District of Laurel and running Southerly with the Westerly
side of U.S. Rt. 1 (Washington Avenue) to the Northerly side of Cherry
Lane and Westerly with Cherry Lane to the Southwest corner of Lot 1,
Block A, "Cherrylane" Subdivision; thence running with the outline of said
"Cherrylane" Subdivision northerly to the Southerly line of Spring Valley
Road; thence Easterly with the southerly line of Spring Valley Road to the
Easterly line of Hillsboro Road; thence Northerly with the Easterly line
of Hillsboro Road to the Northerly line of Sandy Spring Road; thence
Westerly along the Northerly line of Sandy Spring Road 877.66 feet; thence
Northerly 455.72 feet; thence Northwesterly 1472.55 feet to the South-
easterly line of Interstate 95; thence Running Southwesterly along the
Southeasterly lines of Interstate 95, 688.24 feet; thence Southwesterly
