the Constitution and Laws thereof; and that I will, to the best of my skill
and judgment, diligently and faithfully, without partiality or prejudice,
execute the office of Commissioner of Aberdeen according to the Consti-
tution and Laws of this State."

Each of the Commissioners-elect shall sign his or her name below the
signature of the [Justice of the Peace] official administering the oath.
Both the oath and the signatures shall be filed among the records of [the]
The Commissioners of Aberdeen. By taking oath and making affirmation
and signing the same, said Commissioners shall be deemed to have quali-
fied for the Office of Commissioner of Aberdeen.

5A. There shall be a [board of supervisors of elections] Board of
Supervisors of Elections,
consisting of three members appointed by the
Commissioners of Aberdeen on or before the first Monday in January in
every even numbered year. The terms of the members of the [board of
supervisors of elections] Board of Supervisors of Elections shall begin on
the first Monday in January in the year in which they are appointed and
shall run for two years. Members of the Board of [supervisors of elec-
tions] Supervisors of Elections shall be qualified voters of the town and
shall not hold or be candidates for any elective office during their term of
office. The [board] Board shall appoint one of its members as chairman.
Vacancies on the [board] Board shall be filled by the Commissioners of
Aberdeen for the remainder of the unexpired term. The compensation of
the [board] Board, if any, shall be determined by the Commissioners
of Aberdeen. [If this ordinance is adopted by the voters after a petition
for referendum, the board of supervisors of elections shall be appointed on
the first Monday in June after its effective date for terms of two years
as hereinbefore provided.]

5G. [Persons] A registered voter of the Town of Aberdeen may be
nominated for elective office in the town by filing a certificate of nomi-
nation at the office of the [board of supervisors of elections] Board of
Supervisors of Elections
on or before 6:00 P.M. of the third Monday in
April next preceding the town election. No person shall file for nomination
to more than one elective town public office or hold more than one elective
or appointed town public office or employment at any one time.

5H. It shall be the duty of the Board of [supervisors of elections]
Supervisors of Elections to provide for each special and general election a
suitable place or places for voting and suitable ballot boxes and ballots
and/or voting machines. The ballots and/or voting machines shall show
the name of each candidate nominated for elective office in accordance
with the provisions of the town charter, arranged in alphabetical order by
office with no party designation of any kind. The [board of supervisors
of elections] Board of Supervisors of Elections shall keep the polls open
from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election days, or for longer hours if the Commis-
sioners require it. If the [board] Board decides to use voting machines at
any election, the method of use shall be in the same manner provided in
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 edition), title "Elec-
tions," subtitle "Voting Machines," and any subsequent amendments there-
to insofar as the provisions of said Article may be reasonably applicable.

Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ORDAINED and EN-
ACTED that the date of adoption of this Resolution is March 9, 1970, and
that the amendment to the Charter of The Commissioners of Aberdeen
hereby resolved, ordained and enacted shall be and become effective on
April 28, 1970, unless a proper petition for a referendum hereon shall be
