by an aggrieved party from any final order, judgment or decree of
the juvenile court; to repeal obsolete references to the People's
Court for Juvenile Causes; to delete requirements for an annual
report; to repeal provisions relating to the support of a child in
the custody of the court by parents; to repeal provisions for a
substitute judge; to delete references to appropriations by the
County Council and disposition of fines; and generally relating
thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 72, 73, 75, 76, 77, 80(c), AND 87 and 90(b) of Article
26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1966 Replacement Volume
and 1970 Cumulative Supplement), title "Courts," subtitle "Juvenile
Causes in Montgomery County" are hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

72.

[Two of the judges of the People's Court of Montgomery County
shall be judges for juvenile causes only.] The District Court for
Montgomery County TWO JUDGES OF THE DISTRICT COURT
WITHIN THE SIXTH DISTRICT shall have jurisdiction in juve-
nile causes as hereinafter provided. When so engaged, it shall be
known as "The District Court for Montgomery County, sitting as a
Juvenile Court." As used in this subtitle, "court" means the District
Court of Montgomery County sitting for juvenile causes.

73.

[The judges for juvenile causes shall be appointed, as provided
by Section 98 of Article 52, enacted herewith. They shall have the
qualifications and receive a salary as provided in Sections 98 and 108
of said Article 52.] Two of the judges of the District Court WITHIN
THE SIXTH DISTRICT for Montgomery County shall have as their
primary and if made necessary by the case load, their exclusive duty
the handling of juvenile causes as determined by the chief judge of
the District Court.

75.

When used in this subtitle, unless the context clearly requires
otherwise:

[(a) "Court" means the court presided over by the People's
Court judges for juvenile causes of Montgomery County.]

[(b)] (a) "Judge" means either of the [People's Court] Dis-
trict Court
judges sitting for juvenile causes [of] in Montgomery
County.

[(c)](b) "Child" means a minor under the age of 18 years who
is subject to the jurisdiction of the court.

[(d)] (c) "Adult" means a person 18 years of age or over.

(d) "Delinquent child" means a child who violates any law or
ordinance of the State or county, or who commits any act which
would be a crime if committed by an adult.
