land State Police and of the Department of Natural Resources) shall
be compensated at one and one-half times the hourly rate estab-
lished by dividing the weekly compensation by the number of hours
in the normal work week; provided, however, that the department
may compute overtime due on the basis of an eighty (80) hour
biweekly period. On this basis, overtime shall be paid at the rate of
one and one-half times the regular rate for all hours worked beyond
eight (8) hours in any one day and one and one-half times the regu-
lar rate for all hours worked over eighty (80) in any work period
of fourteen (14) consecutive days; provided, however, that the bi-
weekly method of computing overtime shall not be used by the State
educational institutions, and shall not be used for the law enforce-
ment personnel of the
Maryland State Police and of the Department
of Natural Resources.

(c)  Provided, however, that the provisions of this section shall not
apply to the law-enforcement personnel of [the Game and Inland
Fish Commission, Department of Forests and
Parks, the Department
of Chesapeake Bay
Affairs,] the Maryland Alcohol Tax Enforcement
Unit [and the Department of Maryland State Police]; AND PRO-
VIDED FURTHER, THAT THE PROVISIONS OF SUBSECTIONS
(A) AND (B) OF THIS SECTION SHALL NOT APPLY TO THE
LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL OF THE MARYLAND
STATE POLICE AND THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL
RESOURCES.

(d)  Law-enforcement employees of the Maryland State Police
AND OF THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES and
of the Department of Natural Resources who work in excess of the
normal fifty (50) hour work week shall receive overtime compen-
sation as
provided in this section for such time worked.
ONE HUN-
DRED (100) HOUR BI-WEEKLY WORK PERIOD SHALL RE-
CEIVE OVERTIME COMPENSATION WHICH SHALL BE COM-
PUTED BY DIVIDING THE BI-WEEKLY COMPENSATION BY
THE NUMBER OF HOURS IN THE NORMAL BI-WEEKLY
WORK PERIOD AND MULTIPLYING THE RESULTING QUO-
TIENT BY ONE AND ONE-HALF TIMES THE NUMBER OF
HOURS WORKED IN EXCESS OF THE NORMAL BI-WEEKLY
WORK PERIOD. The maximum yearly overtime to be paid any one
such employee is as follows:

TROOPER, TROOPER FIRST CLASS

AND NATURAL RESOURCES

OFFICERS I AND II                            $800 PER ANNUM

CORPORAL AND NATURAL

RESOURCES OFFICER III                   700 PER ANNUM

SERGEANT AND NATURAL

RESOURCES OFFICER IV                    600 PER ANNUM

1ST SERGEANT AND NATURAL

RESOURCES OFFICER V                     500 PER ANNUM

2ND LIEUTENANT AND NATURAL

RESOURCES OFFICER VI                      400 PER ANNUM

1ST LIEUTENANT AND NATURAL

RESOURCES OFFICER VII                   300 PER ANNUM

CAPTAIN AND NATURAL

RESOURCES OFFICER VIII                 200 PER ANNUM

Trooper, Trooper First Class and
Natural Resources Officers I and II      $800 per annum
