County (1963 Edition) as amended, being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County"
subtitle "Domestic Relations Causes" to provide that one or more
persons may be appointed as Master for domestic relations causes
in Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 24A-1 of subtitle 24A of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Prince George's County (1963 Edition) as amended, being Article
17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title Prince
George's County" subtitle "Domestic Relations Causes be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

24A-1.

The circuit court for Prince George's County is authorized and
empowered to designate, and appoint and employ, AS PROVIDED
IN THE BUDGET OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, [no more
than two] one or more qualified persons to be known as the master or
masters for domestic relations causes of the circuit court of Prince
George's County for the purpose of hearing such cases of a domestic
relations nature and performing other similar and related duties as
may be from time to time prescribed by said court. Persons so em-
ployed shall be members of the bar of the State of Maryland and shall
deceive an annual salary provided by the [county commissioners]
county council COUNTY EXECUTIVE of Prince George's County m
such amount as they HE may from time to time prescribe after con-
sultation with the court; and the clerk of the circuit court for
Prince George's County shall reimburse the said COUNTY EXEC-
UTIVE AND [county commissioners] county council for salary so
paid from the costs collected pursuant to Section 24A-4 of this sub-
title.

Sec 2 And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

(House Bill 1218)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments Section 18-5(a) of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1963
Edition and 1967 Supplement) being also Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's County,
subtitle "County Council," subheading "Transfer Tax' to provide
an increase in the authorized rate of tax imposed upon recordation
of instruments in the land records for Prince George's County and
providing generally for a transfer tax on instruments of writing
offered for record in Prince George's County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 18-5(a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince
George's County (1963 Edition and 1967 Supplement) being also
