for terms of two years each. The appointments are subject to con-
firmation by the Senate of Maryland. One of the members of the
board shall be designated as its chairman, and not more than two
members of the board shall belong to the same political party.

(d-2) In Worcester County as of July 1, 1971, the Governor will
appoint three persons who will constitute the board of license com-
missioners for the county, who will hold office for terms of four TWO
years each. The appointments are subject to confirmation by the
Senate of Maryland. One of the members of the board will be desig-
nated as its chairman.

(e)     Talbot County.—In Talbot County the appointments shall
be for terms of six years. The board shall organize by electing its
own chairman.

(f)     Washington County.—In Washington County, upon the ex-
piration of the terms of the commissioners in office on June 1, 1961,
the Governor shall appoint, in the manner hereinabove provided, one
commissioner for a term of two years, one for a term of four years
and one for a term of six years. Thereafter all terms shall be for
six years and not more than two of said appointees shall belong to
the same political party.

(g)    This section shall be applicable in Baltimore City, and (ex-
cept as otherwise provided) in Allegany, Anne Arundel, Calvert,
Caroline, Prince George's, St. Mary's, Somerset, Talbot, Washington,
[and] Wicomico and Worcester counties.

The respective boards of county commissioners shall ex officio con-
stitute the boards of license commissioners in Dorchester [,] and
Kent [and Worcester] counties. In Howard County, the County
Council shall ex officio constitute the board of license commissioners.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT NEW SEC-
TION 155(W) BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED TO SAID
ARTICLE, TITLE AND SUBTITLE, TO FOLLOW IMMEDI-
ATELY AFTER SECTION 155(V) THEREOF, AND TO READ
AS FOLLOWS:

155.

(W) IN WORCESTER COUNTY, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE
BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS WILL RECEIVE AS
COMPENSATION, THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND FIVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500.00) PER YEAR. EACH OF THE
OTHER TWO MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE AS COMPENSATION
THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS
($1,200.00) PER YEAR.

Sec. 2 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
