Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the salaries of the Chief
Judge and other judges of the Maryland Tax Court in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning
the salaries of the Chief Judge and other judges of the Maryland
Tax Court shall take effect at the beginning of the next following
terms of office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on June 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 538
(House Bill 482)

AN ACT to add a new Section 14 (d) to Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title "Revenue and
Taxes," subtitle "Method of Assessment," to follow immediately
after Section 14 (c) thereof, imposing certain requirements upon
the county assessors in Montgomery and Prince George's counties
SUPERVISORS OF ASSESSMENTS IN THE COUNTIES AND
THE DIRECTOR OF ASSESSMENTS IN BALTIMORE CITY
WHEN REQUESTED BY THE LOCAL GOVERNING BODY as
to actual land use and current zoning of each unit of real property
at the time it is assessed.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 14 (d) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1969 Replacement Volume), title
"Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "Method of Assessment," to follow
immediately after Section 14 (c) thereof and to read as follows:

14.

(d) The Assessors for Montgomery County and Prince George's
County shall THE SUPERVISORS OF ASSESSMENTS IN THE
COUNTIES AND THE DIRECTOR OF ASSESSMENTS IN BAL-
TIMORE CITY, UPON REQUEST OF THE LOCAL GOVERNING
BODY, SHALL ascertain the actual land use and current zoning of
each unit of real property at the time of making each assessment
thereof. The assessor shall classify the land use in accordance with
the Bureau of Public Roads standard land use code published by the
U. S. Department of Commerce, and he shall record the land use
classification and current zoning. Prior to July 1 following the
expiration of each calendar year he shall publish a recapitulation of
all land use classification and zoning recorded during the year which,
shall be available to the general public.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
