licenses, BUT SHALL CONTINUE TO GIVE RECOGNITION TO
THE STATE'S OWNERSHIP OF THE RACING DAYS. The plans
shall be designed to preserve and improve the high quality of racing
in the State of Maryland and to assure adequate physical facilities
and comforts to the patrons of the one-mile tracks. THE PLAN
SHALL NOT BE IMPLEMENTED OR PUT INTO EFFECT
WITHOUT THE PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE GENERAL AS-
SEMBLY. DURING THE RACING COMMISSION'S ENTIRE
CONSIDERATION OF THIS STUDY, IT SHALL MAKE ALL ITS
MEETINGS AND FACILITIES OPEN AND AVAILABLE TO AN
ADVISORY GROUP OF SIX MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY, THREE FROM THE SENATE AND THREE FROM
THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, TO BE SELECTED RESPEC-
TIVELY FROM TIME TO TIME BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE
SENATE AND THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF DELE-
GATES.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.

CHAPTER 469
(Senate Bill 577)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 230B (b)
of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Supple-
ment), title "Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate Brokers," increasing
the penalty for a violation of the section prohibiting solicitation
by real estate brokers for the purpose of changing the racial com-
position of a neighborhood.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 230B (b) of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1970 Supplement), title "Licenses," subtitle "Real Estate
Brokers," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

230B.

(b) A violation of this section is a misdemeanor, punishable upon
conviction by a fine of not more than five '[hundred] thousand dollars
[($500.00)] ($5,000.00) or imprisonment for one year, or both.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1971.
