       to the only use and Behoof of the Said John Cromwell his
       Heirs and Assigns and to no other use intent or Purpose
       whatsoever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents
       have hereunto interchangably Set their hands and Seals the
       Day and year first above Written

       This Indenture made the twenty Second day of September
       in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Six
       Between Robert Talle and Sarah his wife James Morris & Anne
       his wife James Thompson Willing Bassett and Parthenia
       Michk Mitchell all of Saint Marys County in the Province
       of Maryland of the one part and Thomas Griffin of the
       County and Province aforesaid of the other Part Witnesseth
       that the said Roger and Sarah his wife James Morris and
       Anne his wife James Thompson Willing Bassett and
       Parthenia Mitchell for and in Consideration of the Sum of five
       Shillings Current Money to them in hand Paid at or before
       the ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof
       is hereby acknowledged and the Said Thomas Griffin his
       Executors and Administrators thereof acquitted and
       Discharged Have and each of them Hath Granted  
       bargained and Sold Do and by these Present Each of
       them Doth Grant Bargain and Sell unto him the said
       Thomas Griffin his Executors and Administrators &
       Assigns All that Part of a Trat of Land Called Griffins
       Choice Lying in Hawleys Manor in the County
                                                             (aforesaid)
