306) his heirs & Assigns ^as by the s.d John Bickerton his Heirs or Assigns^ or his or their Council Learned in the Law shall be Reasonably Advised devised or required In Witness whereof the parties hereunto have Interchangeably set their hands and seals the day and Year first above written Signed sealed & Delivered Phil Dowell seal in the presence of Us her Ro Boyce Mary MD Dowell seal John Smith mark On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorst (Viz) April 17.th 1747 Rec.d of John Bickerton the sum of Sixty Pounds Sterling being the Consideration money within mentioned Phil Dowell Test Ro Boyce April 17.th 1747 Then Came before Us Two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for Calvert County the within named Philip Dowell & Mary his wife & Acknowledged the within Deed to be their Act and Deed and the Land & Premes therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Bickerton his heirs & Assigns forever & the said Mary being Privately examined & out of the hearing of said Husband Acknowledged that she freely & Voluntarily became a party thereto & that she Relinquished her Right of Dower to the said Land and Premisses not by 7 1/2 sides any Compulsion or threats of or from her said Husband or for fear of his Displeasure Ro Boyce June 6.th 1747 Recorded John Smith Ex.d This Indenture made the third day of June in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and forty seven Between Thomas Bordley of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland Gentleman Eldest Son and heir at Law of Ariana Jenings heretofore Ariana Frisby and afterwards Ariana Bordley of Cecil County in the Province af.d Deceased of the one part and (Daniel) |
