Ex.d      This Indenture.  Made the
       sixth Day of April in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven
       hundred and forty four, Between Thomas Slade of Baltimore County
       Planter of the One Part and Charles Carroll of Annapolis Esq.r  
       of the Other Part, Witnesseth that the said Thomas Slade for an
       in Consideration of the sum of five shillings Current money to him in
       hand paid by the said Charles Carroll at or before the ensealing
       and Delivery of these Psents the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
       Hath Bargained and Sold and by these Presents Doth Bargain
       and Sell unto the said Charles Carroll All that Tract or Parcel of
       Land Called Slades Camp lying in Baltimore County upon the
       Northside of Patapscoe River being Part of Hunting Ridge Beginning
       at a bound Red Oak of James Murrey's Land Called Ashell
       standing on a Level and running North West one hundred fifty one,
       Pches, to a bounded Hiccory then North East Two hundred Pches
       to a bound Elme then south East one hundred fifty one Pches to Murrey
       Line then South West with Murrey's line to the first bound Tree
       containing One hundred Eighty Eight Acres of Land more or less
       with the appurtenances To Have and to Hold the said Tract
       or Parcel of Land Hereditaments and Premisses and every part
       thereof with the appurtenances hereby Bargained and Sold or
       mentioned or intended to be hereby Bargained and Sold, unto the
       said Charles Carroll his Exors Admors or Assigns from the Day
       next before the Day of the Date of these Presents for during
       and unto the full end and Term of on whole Year from thence
       next ensuing and fully to be Compleat and ended to the intent
       and Purpose that the said Charles Carroll may be the better
       enabled to receive and take a grant or Release of the Premisses
       hereby Bargained and Sold or mentioned or Intended to be
       hereby Bargained and Sold to him and his         Assigns
       in such Sort manner and form as in and by one Indenture
       intended to bear date the Day next after the Day of the
       Date of these Psents the same shall be Granted Released
