September 30.th 1726 Maryland fs Exchange for £ 6 12 0 Sterl At Thirty days sight of this my Third Bill of Exchange second and Third of the same Tenor & Date not paid pay unto M.r James Simms or order the sume of six pounds Twelve shillings Acrl value from him Received at Annapolis & place it to the account of S.r Your Humble Servant To Mr Joseph Adams Signum Merchant in London Henry H Godfrey On y.e back of the foregoing bill is Indorsed as follow viz.t Aprill y.e 1 1728 Pay the Contents to Mr Hugh Arbuthnott on my account James Simms x.d This Indenture made the Ninth day of Aprill in the Year of our Lord God One Thousand seven Hundred & Twenty Eight Between John Bennett of the Citty of Annapolis Gen.t Devisee of Thomas Hodgson Late of Cecill County Gen.t Deceased of the one part & Peter Atwood of or near Portobaccoe in Charles Countey Gen.t of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Bennett for & in consideration of the sume of five shillings Currant Money of Maryland as also for Divers other Good Causes & valuable considerations him thereunto Espetially moveing hath Given Granted Bargained & sold as by these presents he The said John Bennett Doth for himself & his heirs Give Grant Bargin Sell Assigne enfeoffe confirm & make over unto him the said Peter Atwood his heirs & assigns for ever all the Estate both Real & personall consisting partly of some Tracts or parcells of Land Lying and being in Maryland or else where & partley consisting of Goods & Chattells Given & bequethed by the aforesaid Thomas Hodgson who was Devisee of Thomas Mansell some time an Inhabitant at or near Bohemia River in Cesill County by his Last will unto the afores.d Jn.o Bennett |
