202   The following was Recorded at the Request of M.r Gilbert Higginson
         
          I do acknowledge to have rec.d of Gilbert Higginson five shillings
          it being in sute of all Debts dues & Demands due & owing from
          John Taillor of London Merch.t to the Estate of my Father Nathan
          Smith Deceased & to myself for overseeing his plantations and
          Negotiating all other affairs for y.e said John & is in full Satisfaction
          of all Demands whatsoever as witness my hand & Seal
          this 15.th day of June 1724

          On the Back of which is thus Endorst            April y.e 18 1727
         
          Then Came George Plater the Subscribing Evidence to y.e w.thin
          receipt & made oath on the holy Evangilists that to the best of his
          rememberance he saw the w.thin Joseph Smith sign seale &
          Execute the within receipt on the day of the Date thereof and
          that at the same time he to the best of his knowledge subscribed
          his name as Wittnes to the same

x.d     This Indenture made this seventh day of April Anno Dom
          seventeen hund.d twenty & seven Between Richard Thacker of Baltemore
          County planter and Hannah his wife of the one part and Philip Hammond
          of Annarundle County Merch.t of the other part Wittnesseth that
          the said Richard Thacker and Hannah his wife for and in Consideration
          of the sume of fifty one p.ds seventeen shillings & five pence Str
          money to them in hand paid at and before the Ensealing and delivery
          of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and
          themselves to be fully Satisfied contented and p.d hath given granted
          bargained sold aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents
          doth fully clearly and absolutely give grant bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff
          and Confirm unto him the s.d Philip Hammond all y.t Tract or pcell of
          Land called Gardners Mile lying and being in Bal.t County afs.d and
          on the South West side of the main falls of Potapsco River Begining
